You Control Your Destiny

Posted on

WELCOME BACK. The scripture says: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11NIV). It’s imperative to recognize the fact that you are the masters of your destiny. Your destiny is everything that happens to you during your life, including what will happen in the future, specially when it’s considered to be controlled by you or someone else. You control your future, your destiny. What you think about comes about. By recording your dreams and goals on paper, you set in motion the process of becoming the person you most want to become. I can control my destiny, but not my fate. Destiny means there are opportunities to turn right or left, but fate is a one-way street. Fate is your divine will that predetermine your event in life. Fate is what happens when you let other people and external circumstance dictate your life. Being destined for greatness only comes through active and conscious decisions. I believe we all have the choice as to whether we fulfil our destiny. As long as you are persistence in your pursuit of your deepest destiny, you will continue to grow. You cannot choose the day or time when you will fully bloom. It happens in its own time. Destiny is no matter of chance. It is a matter of choice. It is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved. Your destiny is to fulfill those things upon which you focus most intently. So choose to keep your focus on that which is truly magnificent, beautiful, uplifting and joyful. Your life is always moving toward something. Don’t hold on to the past; it won’t help you in moving forward. Dare to dream big.

Rick Warren, the founder and senior Pastor of Saddleback Church, an America Evangelical Christian author said “The way you see your life shapes your life. How you define life determines your destiny. Your perspective will influence how you invest your time, spend your money, use your talents, and value your relationships”. This is remarkable! I later realized in my life that it is in my moments of decision that my destiny is shaped. You see, God wants us to blossom and flourish in life, fulfilling our destiny and being fruitful. I believe you are destined to do great things. God is pleased to enrich your life. He created you for a purpose. He told Prophet Jeremiah “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope”. Wow! God has opportunities, He wants to release to you an assignments with which He wants to entrust to you. Your assignment is your live purpose. Your purpose describes who you are. God put gifts and talents and ability on the inside of every one of us. When you develop this capacity and believe in yourself and you also believe that you’re a person of influence and a person of purpose, you can rise out of any situation. The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be. Do not compare yourself to others. You have a unique destiny and mission that only you can accomplish. Why? Because your thoughts are the architects of your destiny. Your destiny is not determined by the number of times you stumble but by the number of times you rise up, and move forward. Remember, you are the master of your own destiny. Use your strengths efficiently and effectively. They are the keys to your destiny and your success in life. Once you know yourself and take action to realize your dreams, you can unlock the doors to your own potential.
