Embrace The Struggle

Posted on

WELCOME BACK. The scripture says in the book of 2 Corinthians 11:25 “Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was stoned, three times I was shipwrecked, a night and a day I have spent in the open sea”. I want to emphasize the fact that if you are going to be successful in any area of your life, you must experience a great amount of pain. The truth of the matter is that there is no gain without pain. The great goal of becoming what you are capable of becoming can be achieved only by those who are willing to pay the price and the price always involves a lot of sacrifice, irritation, pain and suffering. Apostle Paul in his word described how he was beaten, shipwrecked and abandoned in so many occasion. He understood the fact that if contentment was his highest purpose in life, he will miss out on the riches of the Kingdom of God. But the fact remain the same, he was not abandoned by his God. He succeeded through the struggle. We need to embrace any struggle in life if we are to succeed in life. Life is full of ups and downs and we can never run away from the challenges of life. The faster we decide to face any challenge, the faster your life can be changed by the inevitable. If you carefully study those great men and women of our days, you can always see that they are usually not those who never faced challenges in their life. In fact, some of the most successful people in this world we have heard of started out poorly, and failed many times. For example, Albert Einstein was thought as mentally retarded when he was young. He didn’t speak until he turned 4 and didn’t read until he was 7. His grade were so poor in school that his teacher actually asked him to quit his school. Do you know Winston Churchill actually was defeated in every election for public office until he finally became the prime minister at the age of 62? Successful men and women do not whine or complain over the challenges of their lives instead, they embrace the struggle.

Tony Gaskins a motivational speaker, author and life Coach said “Embrace the struggle and let it make you stronger, it won’t last forever”. Wow! the struggle of life can’t last forever. The struggle you are in today is developing the strength you need for tomorrow. This is a success winning strategies. Nothing can keep you down unless you decided not to rise again. In success, you either stand up and be counted or lie down and be counted out. Defeat never comes to people until they admit it. Apostle Paul in our text today never accept his failure and challenges in ministry, he stand strong, he embrace the struggle and succeeded. This remind me that our success or failure will be measured by our willingness to embrace our struggle. I discovered in my life that nothing significant can ever be accomplished without challenges, pain and suffering to contend with along the way. The capacity to embrace your struggle breed success which is the sum total of small efforts, repeated day in and day out. Great men and women achieved great things simply because they refuse to give up and they embrace the inevitable occurrence in their lives. No matter how your challenges might be it cannot last forever. No wonder the scripture says for the righteous man falls seven times and he rises again. Those who succeeded learned tenacity. They learned the value and benefits of embracing their struggle. They refused to let any challenges or hard situation stand between them and their goals. They showed the masses, real life situation that stability enable them to win in the end and that the ability to regenerate one’s course even in the midst of unbelievable circumstances can pay big dividend. Remember, when you embrace your struggle, you achieve your success.
