Taking Strategic Action (Part 1)

Posted on

WELCOME BACK. The scripture says “But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it, he will be blessed in what he does” (James 1:25). Taking strategic action is one of the undeniable ingredients for success. In our lesson today I want to start by saying that there are three basic principles for success. (1) It’s being at the right place at the right time. (2) It’s knowing that you are there and (3) It’s taking strategic action in spite of fear. What does these mean? It means that you have the capacity to control fear when facing danger or pain. It also means that you have to develop action plans which empowered you to confront problems head on as well as acquire the skills required to deal with life’s inevitable challenges. Fear is a torment. Fear stagnate people and render them motionless or useless in life. The truth of the matter is that the world will not pay you for what you know. The world will pay you for what you do. Also, the world will not reward you for your imagination. The world will reward you for your strategic action in spite fear. This is a simple principles I know, but it is amazing how many people don’t get this idea. The average person, even the brilliant ones, get so bogged down in the planning that they never get out of the starting point. Active people make things happen. They impacts others in a chain reaction, resulting in a lot of progress and change.

The fact remain the same, too many people spend their lives aiming, and they never pull the trigger. They want to get everything perfect before they fire the gun. Unfortunately, things will never be perfect, and the great achievers know this. Abraham Lincoln said “Things may come to those who wait, but only the things left by those who hustle.” You see, the world rewards action. Not thought. And the world reward implementation, not ideas. Unless you put action to your thoughts, all your ideas and plans will come up empty and will merely die along with you at the end of your life. You need to start taking strategic and practical action, no matter how slight, because all those tiny actions will pile up and enable you to reach your desire goal. A man once said “Nothing moves until you move.” Take strategic and practical step now. One of the Isaac Newton’s laws of motion stresses that all objects remain in a state of rest until a force is applied. You have to acknowledged the fact that if you see anything working, there is somebody behind it who is making it to work. The world only moves for the man who moves himself, so make that move today. Take action. Just do it and keep on and on until you succeed. Success will not come to you where you are. You have to go to where it is. Remember, action is the basic element in moving forward.
