Give Until It Hurts (Part 2)

Posted on

WELCOME BACK. The scripture says “…for I will not offer burnt offerings to the LORD my God which cost me nothing… ” (2 Samuel 24:24). I want to emphasize here that giving is a spiritual capacity which has the ability to reproduce positive thoughts and divine ideas. When a man give money which are physical seeds, God gives him ideas which are spiritual seed. David in our context, gave to God what really cost him his possessions, which has the ability to stand forever. A precious gift which cannot be quantify with anything on the planet earth and God gave him divine ideas on how to rule the nation of Israel. In the quest to my knowledge, I realized that when a man gave to God, the Holy Spirit gives him power to prosper and wisdom to operate. Kindness is a spiritual seed and it’s also a doorway for true greatness. Great people are great partly because they are liberal, and they understand the power and efficacy of giving. They see a personal responsibility and possess a strong desire to get personally involved in finding solutions for some of the society’s most pressing problems. They know that money can be a tool that can be utilize to fulfill objectives. We have to acknowledged and embraced the fact that God want to bless us. That’s why He gave us a giving spirit. He has given us the talents that we can turn into money. He has given us the opportunities and the open doors that we utilize every day to get ahead. God has blessed us and want to bless us even more so we can increase our giving abilities.

In our previous lesson, I said give something that is valuable. If it doesn’t hurt, it’s not real giving. Give until it hurts. I further said, money is a resource to be used and distributed, not a reward to be pursued for its sake and stashed away. Example – King Solomon, the wisest king in ancient Israel who ever lived operated by this principle. Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings on the altar at Gibeon and God appeared to him in a dream by night and God said: “Ask what shall I give to you”. King Solomon asked for wisdom and understanding and God gave him a new heart. Wow! This was dramatic and the genesis of the wisdom and wealth of Solomon. He gained access to divine ideas that transformed his life and destiny. You see, God-inspired ideas can never fail. The principle of transfer of wealth is scriptural. The only means by which God will do it is through the supply of ideas as He did to David, Solomon, Jacob, Bill Gate and Warren Buffet. These people are leaders. They are great! The more you give, the more God gives back to you. This lifestyle of giving is one of the highest level of living that is possible. It also is one of the most exciting lifestyles available. Someone once said, “Your candle loses nothing when it lights another”. So if you want to make an impact learn to give. If you become a giver, you will truly glorify God with your life and be used by Him in this world. Remember, giving is living and living guaranteed your success and acceleration in life.
