Your Attitude Towards Life (Part 2)

Posted on

WELCOME BACK. Apostle Paul says: “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 2 5). In our previous lesson we learnt that attitude towards life is developed when you learned responsibility and accountability through the growth process of life. We also learnt that life is a ladder, the higher you climb the higher your responsibilities increases and the more your options decreases. You see, attitude is the greatest business of life. Your capacity to develop yourself as a person of attitude and honour is the highest achievement of both social and business life. Your attitude towards life is the sum total of all your choices and decisions in life. When you have chosen wisely and acted consistently with excellent, you strengthened your attitude and become a better person. In the same way, when you compromised, taken the easy way, or behaved in a manner inconsistent with what you knew to be right, you weakened your attitude and softened your personality. No wonder Ralph Waldo Emerson said: Guard your integrity as a sacred thing, nothing at last is sacred except the integrity of your own mind” Meaning that your attitude towards life is the bottom line of a successful life. The attitude that you carry around makes an incredible difference in your life. It can be a lifetime tool for positive transformation and action. Or it can be a poison that cripples your capacity to fulfill your God-given potential.

I discovered through my life journey and experiences that attitude towards life determines whether you are on the way or in the way. That’s why to develop a good attitude towards life that help you live life to its fullest, as you were designed by God, you must first understand that your mindset is the controller of your attitude. Your attitude is nothing but an outward reflection of what reside on your inside. So to change your attitude towards life, you must change your mindset. Winston Churchill also said: “Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference”. It’s not whether you get knocked down or not, the most important thing is whether you get up. Your way of life is all it takes. During my studies and researched I later discovered that the longer I live on earth the more I know the impact of my way of life. That was profound! Attitude to me is more Important than the facts. It’s more Important than the past. It’s more important than the education. It’s more Important than the money. It’s more Important than the circumstances or successes and what others people think or say to do to you. What it matter is that you have a choice to make every day concerning the quality you will hold for that day. You cannot change your past, or change the fact that people will act in a certain way, and you cannot change the inevitable. Remember, your attitude towards life reflect who you are.
