WELCOME BACK. The scripture says: “For we walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Cor. 5:7). Our lesson today is: “sight without vision”. It’s imperative to ultimately understand that you must not let what your eyes see determine what your hearts believe. Now, what does it mean to said, Sight Without Vision? It means that sight is the capacity to see things as they are, while vision is the ability to see things as they could be. I am certained that most people have sight but no vision. Vision is the greatest potential God gave to every man and woman on this planet earth. You are to walk according to what is in your hearts. You are to let what is in your hearts suggest how you see life. When we have vision, we are controled by the unseen world, which has the capacity to bring the future in your present and the reward comes effortlessly. But when we operate by sight, we see challenges and obstacles all around us. Sight without the application of vision is vulnerable because it has no expectation. In our world today so many people are living by sight alone, and that’s one reason they have all kinds of high blood pressure, heart disease and all manners of sicknesses. Living by sight has the power to kill. Life is full of depressing things that you need to learn to live by the eyes of vision.
In our previous article titled: “A limitless vision” I gave a story of Helen Keller. Who become blind, deaf, and mute as a result of an illness when she was only eighteen months old. She was a powerful, remarkable woman who impacted her generation, and still influences us today. In her old age, she was interviewed by a news anchor about her life. Part of their conversation went something like this: Communicating his questions to her through Braille, he asked, “Miss Helen Keller, is there anything worse than being blind? “ She paused for a moment and, in her very way of talking, said, “What’s worse than being blind is having sight without vision.” What a fantastic woman, who could not see physically, had more vision and achievements than the majority of those in her generation who had sight. One of the secret I discovered from her life existence is that she didn’t spend her years being angry and blaming God for her blindness and deafness. No, she was able to live a full life because she had vision in her heart. Remember, sight is the capacity to see things as they are and vision is the ability to see things as they could be.
