The Pursuit Of Excellent

WELCOME BACK. The scripture says “Then this Daniel became distinguished above all the other presidents and satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him. And the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom” (Daniel 6:3). Your pursuit of excellent determines your fulfillment in life and destiny. What does it mean? (1) It means that you learn to focus on the one or two things God has given you to do with a level of skill that other people seem unable to equal. (2) It means doing everything else in your life to the best of your limited abilities. (3) It means to always be honoured to serve God and bless others through the things you do best. Excellent in the dictionary definition could be defined as the quality of being outstanding or extremely good. It’s the capacity to excelling at anything one seeks to do, or the very best of its kind. Being excellent in what you do glorified God. Margaret Thatcher said “I do not know anyone who has gotten to the top without hard work”. To approach one’s life with mediocrity mentality is to despise God’s gift in your life. Excellent work speaks highly of you and the God you serve.

Mike Murdock said, “The key to your future is hidden in your daily routine.” I agree with him. You have to start your day, in full gear, not neutral, because real life is lived in the ordinary moments of everyday and those moments begin when you get up in the morning. God’s desire for you is that you should do the best you can with the talents and resources he has placed at your disposal. He knows what you have the ability to do and he will hold you accountable to that. Nothing more and nothing less. Excellent is the creator’s rightful demand. Just as he expect a mango tree to be a good mango tree and yield mango for Him. He expect you to develop your talents and skills he has placed in you and not the talents and abilities he placed in someone else. He expect you to do everything you can do with the highest level of excellence you can have for a particular tasks. Excellent is God’s way. Remember, when you becomes a channel of excellence in all you do, you will see the hands of God upon your life because excellent is what God expect from you as a return on investment.
